Welcome to Feel Free Yoga

Located on the bank of the Brisbane River at the Riverlife Center at Kangaroo Point, Feel Free Yoga’s focus is on mindfulness, peace and health for the community.

The style of yoga is Hatha / Vinyasa, a slow flowing yoga with a tendency for longer holds, which is both energizing and relaxing for the body and mind. Variations for poses are given in class and are suitable for all levels, from beginner to the seriously fit and flexible.

Previous experience or flexibility is not required. Simply come with an open mind and a willingness to learn.

Timetable & Prices

  • For first time students, $20 for the first week allows you to come to all classes for that week.
  • Drop-in price is $15 per class
  • 10 class passes are available for $120

Directions

From Thornton St Ferry Terminal: 5-minute walk up the river
From Cliffs Cafe: 5-minute walk down the stairs and to the right
From Lower River Terrace car park: 5-minute walk down the river

The classes take place in a covered, open-air marquee. We hear the waves from the river splashing against the rocks, the footsteps of joggers, the hum of cyclists’ wheels, and sometimes the scratching of a bush turkey.

About

Feel Free Yoga is a way for me (James Brownlie) to share yoga and promote health and wellbeing within the local community of South Brisbane and the CBD area. I am Yoga Alliance certified, and have had a personal yoga practice for 6 years.

My objectives for teaching are simply to be compassionate and understanding to the people who come and share their time with me in a yoga class, and to help them to become more self-aware, healthier, and happier human beings through the practice of yoga.
